Facebook will probably never introduce dislike button

Facebook recently has launched the Reactions feature to improve the ubiquitous like button by adding 5 reactions.

 Many people thought that dislike button would appear as required by a lot of users, but the developers of Facebook did not do so.

There should be dislike button on Facebook or not

Although many users has called for dislike button for many years, Fb insists that there will never be a dislike button on their app.

A dislike felt very binary to Mark and the team so they has recently launched the set of Reactions.

In a post on Medium, Geoff Teehan, Facebook’s product design director explained the reason why this social network site went from a dislike button to a varied range of emoji Reactions

"People need a much higher degree of sophication and richness in what choices we provide for their communications. Binary “like” and “dislike” doesn’t properly reflect how we react to the vast array of things we encounter in our real lives”

In addition, this button can have adverse effects on users psychology.  

Many users have commented that users can just ignore the posts or advertisements you don’t like. It’s not necessary to to click dislike button. An action seem to be simple but when it was done by a lot of people, it might has great effect on users.
